Hey, Christine here. I created Metis Vitality because I was shocked to learn recently that nearly all of the well-meaning advice out there on health and wellbeing that I’d been following for decades is based upon studies and research conducted on males.
I’ve therefore become sceptical and now I like to dig deeper and understand things for myself. And honestly, once you start looking into this, it’s surprising how flimsy the evidence for applying mainstream advice to female health can be. My curiosity pushed me to start asking questions and searching for real answers. My BSc degree had taught me critical thinking and how to assess the research with an objective eye.
Over the years, I’ve tried dozens and dozens of new approaches and products, read hundreds of research papers, countless blogs, and watched more podcasts and interviews than I can remember—always trying to follow the people actually doing the scientific work and staying up to date with new ideas and discoveries.
So, I’ve gathered a lot of experience and new perspectives that I’d like to share. This site is my space to pass along ideas and approaches to modern living that feel more appropriate for females. You won’t find long, boring essays here—I’ll keep things short, simple, and to the point. My goal is to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and maybe help you find better ways to live well, whatever path you’re on.

On a personal note, I’m a middle-aged mother of two, and I’m an enthusiastic learner. I love to spend time exploring topics related to health and wellbeing, particularly nutrition, exercise and psychology (the fascinating workings of the human brain). I like most spectator sports and I take much inspiration from sports psychology.
Professionally, my background is in Information Technology spanning more than four decades. It taught me precision and problem-solving skills that I now use to bring you this content. Education and knowledge-sharing have always been important to me. Knowledge is the only asset that you can give away still get to keep! I plan to use this philosophy to bring you valuable insights and relevant products to help you make the most of your life’s journey.
Like many people I love to travel. My partner and I carve out time as often as we can to live and learn like locals in different European cities—recent adventures include Rome, Paris, and Istanbul. These experiences broaden my perspective and deepen my understanding of the world and its histories. I find it helps me to put current world events into better context.
This appetite for understanding, problem solving and exploration is at the core of Metis Vitality, where we will constantly strive to innovate and refine how we connect with and support this community. I hope you will join us on this journey and find your inspiration to create a better version of you.
